Kathleen Puri is co-founder of Fitsi health, LLC, a registered nurse and a recently retired associate professor of nursing with many years of experience in hospital patient care. Fitsi Health was born out of frustration with the fact that patients frequently do not have clean hands because they cannot easily access hand-washing resources. Fitsi, a patented bedside caddy, was developed to empower patients to help prevent hospital acquired infections by providing an easily accessible place for hand sanitizer. Kathleen has used her background in bedside nursing, teaching and her own experience as a patient to address the need for patient hand hygiene. Fitsi Health is a 2015 Patient Safety Movement innovation award recipient. And, Kathy serves on the organization's Hospital Acquired Infections (HAIs) Working Group, which aims to establish best practices for preventing HAIs across healthcare. She is a member of the National Honor Society for Nursing, the American Nurses Association and is active in entrepreneurial endeavors.
